Big Brother 28: Sunday Recap & Tonight's Veto Preview

Big Brother 28 is wasting zero time. Sunday's episode laid down the strategic framework for the season, crowned our first batch of Have-Nots, and introduced a game-changing twist that's going to put a lot of power back in the hands of the viewers.

Sunday Recap: Slop and Early Alliances

Sunday's episode showed us that the houseguests are already playing hard, even if they're still getting adjusted to the "Time Trip" theme.

The First Have-Nots of the Summer

First, a moment of silence for Rick Devens' group. Thanks to the results of the first major backyard challenge, his squad (consisting of Chuk, Drew, Haley, and Taylor) has officially been crowned the first Have-Nots of the summer. Getting stuck with slop, cold showers, and terrible beds right out of the gate is a brutal way to start the summer. We'll see tonight if the sleep deprivation is already starting to cause some friction in their team.

The Strategic Web: Alliances are Forming Fast

We're only a few days in, but the houseguests are already locking into distinct factions. If you've been watching the feeds or caught Sunday's episode, a few key groups have clearly emerged:

• The Survivor Connection: Rick Devens and Dee Valladares (who is our first HOH) have instantly bonded. Having two highly strategic Survivor players working together is an immediate threat to the rest of the house.

• The Red Corner: Chuk, Kamu, and Haley have formed a tight trio of their own. However, they aren't playing in a vacuum; they've already looped in Dee and Devens to form "The Red Corner" alliance.

• The Girls' Alliance: Lyric, Melody, and Mallory have gravitated toward one another to form their own core group. Early-game trios like this can be incredibly dangerous if they fly under the radar while the bigger personalities target each other.

• The Crossovers: This is the massive, loose "crossover" mega-alliance consisting of Devens, Dee, Angela, Drew, and Barrett. While it looks strong on paper, a group this big with personalities this loud—especially with Angela in the mix—is bound to face some early turbulence.

The Twist: "America's Vote" is Back

Julie dropped a massive bomb at the end of Sunday's episode by introducing the "America's Vote" twist. While we don't have all the dirty details on how much power we'll actually have, throwing viewer influence into the game this early is a classic Big Brother wrench. The houseguests are going to have to balance their cutthroat strategies with keeping the public happy, which usually leads to some hilarious overthinking.

What to Watch for Tonight

Tonight is Veto night. With Dee currently in power as the HOH, the power dynamics are about to face their first real test. Here is what we're looking out for:

1. The Veto Competition: Can the nominees pull off a clutch win to save themselves, or will the alliance in power keep things locked down?

2. The Live Feed Spillover: We already know Angela is a loose cannon. Will she find something obscure to get triggered by before or after the veto ceremony?

3. The Survivor Target: With Devens and Dee holding so much early influence, will the rest of the house start waking up to the threat, or will the "Crossovers" successfully shield them?
